Biography

Grant Smith is an Assistant Professor of Law in the Legal Writing Department at VLGS. Grant comes to us from the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Denver, Colorado. There, Grant handled nearly 100 appeals and presented over 20 oral arguments before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition to this significant appellate practice, Grant clerked for the Honorable Greg Phillips of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Grant is a graduate of the University of Wyoming College of Law (Order of the Coif) and Brown University (Magna Cum Laude, with dual degrees in Latin and Sanskrit).
