Biography

Professor Margaret Olnek, who joined the Vermont Law School faculty in 2018, specializes in a range of family law issues. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1985 and the Vermont Law School in 1992.

Margaret has worked for 25 years as an attorney. Since 2001, she has represented clients primarily in the area of divorce and child custody. She has experience in every facet of litigation, including trial preparation, depositions, negotiation, settlement and appeals. She is also an active participant in various forms of dispute resolution and has acted as a mediator and arbitrator on family law cases.

She has handled all types of cases, from the most amicable to those that are termed “high conflict.” In 2017, she became certified as a divorce coach and works with clients nationwide with their pre-divorce, divorce, and post-divorce issues. Margaret splits her time between Vermont and Colorado.
