SBA Open Candidate Forum

The Student Bar Association (SBA) Elections are here! We will be holding an information session today at 12:45 in Oakes 007. If you are interested in running for a position in the senate, or are just curious about the SBA in general, come by to ask questions and hear about our organization.

Please read the attached SBA Bylaws and Standing Rules before making or accepting nominations. We ask that you be familiar with these documents to ensure that you understand the roles of our organization and the amount of responsibility involved.

To nominate a candidate, you may reply to this email. To nominate a candidate anonymously, write the name of the candidate and the position on a piece of paper to submit to the box in the Chase Breezeway.

Even if you are not interested in running for a position, we encourage you to join our SBA page on TWEN. Meeting minutes and documents are posted to the TWEN page throughout the year, and it is an easy way to stay current on the happenings here at VLS.

Election Schedule:

• Nominations Open: August 27, 12:00 p.m.
• Nominations Close: August 31, 5:00 p.m.
• Open Candidate Forum: August 30, 13:30 p.m., Chase Center
• Voting Opens: September 4, 10:00 a.m.
• Voting Closes: September 6, 2:00 p.m.
• First Senate Meeting: September 7, 3:30 p.m., Chase Center
