Joint Journal Information Session

February 27, 2018 @ 8:45 pm - 10:00 pm

Please join Vermont Law Review and the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law for a joint journal information session. Faculty and journal members will elaborate on the following questions and discuss other key points pertaining to journal membership.

What is a law journal? Generally, a law journal is an organization that publishes scholarship in the field of law. Journals accept articles from professors, practitioners, and students that advance legal thought.

Why should you join a journal? Journal membership entails a host of benefits. For one, participation will improve your research, writing, and organizational abilities. Employers also look favorably on journal membership.

How can you join a journal? Both journals select incoming staff editors in the same manner. The journals fill initial positions via a Write-On Competition that is distributed after final exams. The journals then fill remaining positions via a Grade-On process that is based purely on class rank.

Representatives from both journals will be visiting your legal writing classes this week, and you should feel free to ask them any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
