Accomplished attorney and environmental advocate Jennifer Rushlow will be joining Vermont Law School’s Environmental Law Center this fall. Rushlow will be transitioning from the Conservation Law Foundation, where she was a Senior Attorney and Director of Farm & Food, leading CLF’s New England-wide advocacy on agriculture and food issues.
Jennifer is an experienced litigator, a creative developer of impactful projects, and a passionate and effective advocate for equity and justice. In 2016, she argued and won a landmark climate law case before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and was named a 2016 Lawyer of the Year by Mass Lawyers Weekly for her work on the case.
“I am excited about working with Jenny to carry the legacy of the ELC forward and strengthen our focus on the most important environmental law and policy issues.”
Dean Tom McHenry
Leading the ELC won’t be Jennifer’s first experience with the program, either—she taught the course “Food System Justice and Sustainability”, at the ELC’s Summer Session. Although she has worked on clean energy, food and agriculture, transportation, and the climate, she cites environmental justice as her truest passion and “the reason [she] became an environmental lawyer.”
