Concentration Areas Include Environment, Animal and Food/Agriculture Law
Vermont Law and Graduate School, home to one of the country’s top-ranked environmental law programs, is accepting applications from qualified, full-time journalists for its 2024 Summer Media Fellowship program, now in its 22nd year.
As fellows, selected journalists will participate in summer courses taught by internationally recognized scholars and leaders in environmental, animal and food and agriculture law and policy. Through funding from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the school will offer animal law media fellowships for the fourth summer in a row.
In addition to auditing a course, fellows will have the opportunity to present on a current environmental issue through the popular “Hot Topics” webinar lecture series.
“During their visit to Vermont Law and Graduate School, summer media fellows interact with experts on a wide array of environmental issues, forming connections that provide sources for stories and often evolve into years-long professional relationships,” said Jennifer Rushlow, dean of the VLGS Maverick Lloyd School for the Environment and faculty director of the Environmental Law Center.
Media fellowships are open to full-time and freelance journalists who are committed to covering natural resources, energy, public health, food systems and agriculture, factory farming, farm animal welfare, animal law and policy and other environment-related subjects. The application deadline is Friday, March 29.
