Andrew received his B.A. from Warren Wilson College, and his J.D. from Vermont Law School. While in law school, Andrew interned for the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board where, among other tasks, he created a protocol for assisting VHCB staff to determine which regulations apply to forested land on a conserved farm based on his research into the topic. After law school, Andrew worked in general practice at Phillips Dunn Shriver & Carroll in Brattleboro before striking out on his own to establish a solo practice in Montpelier with an agricultural focus. Andrew still practices part time and has assisted farmers in lease negotiations, transitioning their business to the next generation, estate planning, probate administration and business entity formation.
Growing up first in Oaxaca, Mexico and then in Brattleboro, Vermont, Andrew is bilingual in Spanish and English. A close family friend operated a vegetable farm where Andrew spent many weekends helping out with chores and caring for the farm animals, sparking his interest in agriculture. His dream is to have a little farm of his own and a thriving agricultural law practice.
